Organized Shuttles to the Graves of Tzaddikim

Visiting the graves of tzaddikim (righteous Jewish sages) is a tradition shared by large parts of the public in Israel, and like a trip or an event, it usually sets out in a minibus, midibus or bus full of an entire group.

Popular destinations

Among the most popular sites: the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron, the tomb of the Holy Ari in Safed, the tombs of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes and Maimonides (the Rambam) in Tiberias, and Rachel's Tomb near Bethlehem. Many trips take place especially around dates and occasions associated with each site.

What makes the journey special

Usually, the passengers on the bus don't know each other at the start of the journey - but on the way back a different atmosphere has formed, as they share the experience with one another. Such a trip is especially suited to organized groups travelling together all day, including stops along the way.
